As you might’ve guessed, I’m constantly asked about the best places to buy green tea. Well, it’s not going to be at the grocery store!

The most delicious and beneficial green tea is fresh, loose leaf from Japan. Japanese green tea is a high-end, quality product. It’s such a great product, only 1% is currently exported to the rest of the world!

This is a list of my top recommendations for buying the best green tea online.

1. Daily Matcha

Daily Matcha is our store where we sell high-end green tea directly from Japan. We source our green teas from a small shop in Kyushu. The leaves are grown and harvested in Kyushu and the matcha comes from Uji.

Our goal is to give you the opportunity to taste the best teas Japan has to offer and to spread the word about green tea. Read More

2. Yunomi

Ian Chun, the founder of Yunomi, has a mission “to make every kind of tea produced in Japan available online.”

He helps small farmers in Japan by offering their tea on the Yunomi website. On the website, you can find small-scale producers and try more exotic variations of green teas. Read More

3. Obubu

Akihiro Kita and Yasuharu Matsumoto started Obubu in 2004 “to teach tea lovers both in Japan and overseas about the value of tea farming, and to contribute to society through tea.”

They have a small farm in Wazuka, Kyoto, which produces around 16 different types of green tea. Read More

4. Den’s Tea

Masanori Shirakata or Den is the President of a family-run tea farm in Shizuoka, Japan. He is a third generation tea merchant who set up a subsidiary in California to sell his tea.

Den’s Tea sells all kinds of Japanese teas including Shizuoka’s famous Sencha. He also revolutionized the cold-brew green tea bags, one of my favorites!

5. Matcha Source

Allysa White is a matcha (green tea powder) retailer in the USA. She sells online and also at a shop in Los Angeles, California. Her matcha green tea is sourced from Nishio in Aichi, Japan.

You can buy matcha accessories and different grades of matcha including café grade, ceremony grade, and organic.
